Second Shift Pharmacist 4:00pm -12:30am, Sunday through Thursday

Kansas Pharmacist License required.

Top Three Responsibilities

1. Inspect! Verify prescriptions and prescription data entered into the pharmacy computer system for accuracy.

2. Utilize clinical skills to perform Drug Utilization Reviews

3. Work in the fulfillment area to provide the final quality check prior to medication being packed and shipped. Knowledge and Skills Pharmacy Fully understands pharmacy reimbursement issues (third party insurance, Medicare Part D, Medicaid, formulary management) Understands the processes and procedures necessary to remedy on-line claim rejections Up to date clinical skills - (through current work practice or demonstrated upon interview)

Technology Basic knowledge of MS Windows operating system

Basic to intermediate skills using MS Office applications (MS Word and MS Excel at a minimum)

Experience using email systems - MS Outlook or Outlook Express preferred but not required.

Ability to process prescriptions in a pharmacy software application.

Experien! ce using a web browser (Internet Explorer preferred but not re! quired) Experience using on-line clinical references and accessing professional (clinical and regulatory) internet sites preferred but not required Experience working with on-screen document images a plus

Language Fluent English speaking skills

Able to communicate effectively and professionally in writing

Bi-lingual and multi-lingual candidates fluent in English are highly desirable. Interpersonal Able to work effectively in team environment and interact with colleagues in a professional and supportive manner

Able to communicate effectively and at the appropriate level with healthcare professionals, peers and consumers

Strong customer service skills including knowledge of standard phone etiquette, problem solving and customer interfacing skills

Performs clinical and professional pharmaceutical work in the compounding and dispensing of drugs and IV supplies. Reviews prescriptions to assure accuracy. Collaborate with other health care professionals to plan, monitor, and review and evaluate patient effectiveness. Provide information and advice regarding drug interactions. Analyze prescribing trends to monitor patient compliance and to prevent excessive usage or harmful interactions.

Responsibilities include:

• Prepares, fills and compounds drugs and IV orders by physicians and other authorized personnel/staff.
• Maintains narcotic inventory and records usage of all controlled substances and pharmaceuticals within the pharmacy. Properly stores biological, vaccines and serums.
• May provide specialized pharmaceutical services including, but not limited to, advising physicians on issues concerning drug therapy, the inherent toxicity! of drugs and their side effects, as well as assisting in the prescript! ion of appropriate doses.

Qualifications include:

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy required.
• Current registration/licensing to practice pharmacy issued by the state.
• One (1) year of experience working as a licensed pharmacist preferred.
• Current physical exam per state or contract regulations.
• Current TB test or chest x-ray.
