Our client (pharmacy service provider) is a high-growth organization that is committed to making the health care system work better for everyone. They are seeking an experienced candidate for the position Pharmacist, to embark an exciting opportunity in Overland Park, KS (long-term contract/full-time hours).
Basic Function
Serves patients by preparing medications; giving pharmacological information to multidisciplinary health care team; monitoring patient drug therapies.
1. Inspect Verify prescriptions and prescription data entered into the pharmacy computer system for accuracy
2. Answer inbound phone calls from physician offices to clarify prescription orders, take quick consult calls from support personnel, and calls from another pharm! acy to transfer a prescription in or out of our facility.

3. Utilize clinical skills to perform Drug Utilization Reviews
4. Perform DOE (direct order entry) for new prescriptions
5. Work in the fulfillment area to provide the final quality check prior to medication being packed and shipped.
Job Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:
Fully understands pharmacy reimbursement issues (third party insurance, Medicare Part D, Medicaid, formulary management) Understands the processes and procedures necessary to remedy on-line claim rejections Up to date clinical skills - (through current work practice or demonstrated upon interview) Technology Basic knowledge of MS Windows operating system Basic to intermediate skills using MS Office applications (MS Word and MS Excel at a minimum) Experience using email systems - MS Outlook or Outlook Express preferred but not required. Ability to process prescriptions in a pharmacy software application. Experience using a web browser (Internet Explorer ! preferred but not required) Experience using on-line clinical references and accessing professional (clinical and regulatory) internet sites preferred but not required Experience working with on-screen document images a plus Language Fluent English speaking skills Able to communicate effectively and professionally in writing Bi-lingual and multi-lingual candidates fluent in English are highly desirable Interpersonal Able to work effectively in team environment and interact with colleagues in a professional and supportive manner Able to communicate effectively and at the appropriate level with healthcare professionals, peers and consumers Strong customer service skills including knowledge of standard phone etiquette, problem solving and customer interfacing skills Organized, detail oriented and excellent on follow-up Professional Career focused with a desire to work in a dynamic professional environment. Able to work flexible schedules and rotate job functions
DE! TAILS:
Training is 2-3 weeks from 8:00-4:30. Monday- Fri! day.
Hours after training are from 3:30 pm-12:00am SUNDAY-THURSDAY.
Must be able to work mandatory overtime if business requires.
Pharmacist Candidate Profile
Licensure Kansas Pharmacist License in good standing.
May consider Kansas Eligible Experience Retail, mail order, LTC or Home Care experience preferred but not required. Hospital, nuclear pharmacy and other pharmacy disciplines considered. Recent graduates accepted
