This position will serve as a work leader over Munson Army Health Center Pharmacy Technicians. You will serve as a dispensing pharmacy technician in the Outpatien! t pharmacy filling prescriptions which are presented to a phar! macist for final checks. Also, serves as technical computer specialist for all pharmacy related information management and automation systems.

Receives and reviews prescriptions for a full range of handled pharmaceuticals to include controlled drugs on the formulary.
Responsible for leading a team of pharmacy technicians in support of the Pharmacy ServiceÂ's mission.
Serves as the primary subject matter expert and principal point of contact on the Pharmacy's automated and information management systems.
Manages all pharmacy computer systems, to include but not limited to CHCS/AHLTA, Scriptpro, GSL Intellicab, VersiFill, Parata APM, AudioCare, etc.
Enters prescription information into automated patient prescription files and transaction processing systems, reviewing profile for allergies, drug/drug or drug/food interactions, and duplicate orders.
Determines type of substance (e.g. drug or pharmaceutical), form, strength, dosage, and quantity to b! e dispensed in accordance with accepted practice and pharmacy standard operating procedures.
Receives and reviews prescriptions for a full range of handled pharmaceuticals to include controlled drugs on the formulary.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Specialized experience : To qualify, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level GS -05 . Specialized experience is defined as: filling prescriptions, distributing pharmaceuticals and utilizing pharmacy based computer systems gained in hospital pharmacies, retail pharmacies, or in pharmaceutical firms or laboratories.

EDUCATION OPTIONS :
One full year of graduate education where it is directly related to the work of this position will meet the requirements for GS-7.

Conditions of Employment:
1.This position requires you to have Certification by the National Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
2.This position requires Basic Life Support Certification from either the American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer or a Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers from American Heart Association.
3.This position requires the applicant to be covered by the Civilian Drug Abuse Testing Program.
4.This position may require scheduling tours of duty that include evenings, weekends, holidays and other schedules common to health center operations.
5.This position requires a background clearance.
6.This position requires the applicant to take seasonal vaccinations
