POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direct supervision of the Licensed Pharmacist and according to law and standard procedures, compounds, dispenses, and delivers medications and pharmaceutical supplies. Prepares sterile products as required. Fills orders, picks and delivers floor stock (Pyxis) supplies; pre-packs and compounds medic! ations; enters charges into computer; makes rounds to pick up ! orders and deliver medications and IV's; and performs other various duties related to the pharmacy technician role. In addition, functions as a pharmacist apprentice. As time and duties allow, closely observes and learns the technical and clinical roles of a pharmacist. The Pharmacy Student is expected to support the mission, vision, and values of Olathe Medical Center, Inc.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
MINIMUM EDUCATION:
High School diploma or equivalent AND - must be currently enrolled in an accredited School of Pharmacy.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
Prefer previous pharmacy technician experience. Technician experience in a hospital environment is preferred.
SKILLS:
Ability to type; Ability to use the phone; Ability to perform basic math functions: add, subtract, multiply, divide, fractions. Computer ability. Good communication, assessment, and organizational skills
LICENSING:
Registered in good standin! g as a pharmacy student intern with the state board of pharmacy (Pharmacy technicians who become registered interns may have their job classification changed to a pharmacy student intern).
