Description
The Clinical Pharmacist is responsible for checking patients medications for appropriate dose; drug and food! interactions; compatibility of medications in the intravenous line; ensuring proper drug administration; counseling patients and answering patient, physician and nursing questions.
SMMC has a blended staffing model, consisting of both clinical and staffing modes.
This position will primarily be clinically focused on a Internal Medicine/Stepdown type unit. Previous experience is a benefit, although not necessary provided the candidate was residency trained.
Kansas Pharmacist License required. Pharm.D. with Residency trained preferred.
Qualifications
Candidate must be ACLS certified or obtain within 6 months of hire date. Must be computer literate, and familiar with CPOE processes. Preferably familiar with the Cerner EMR system.
