Direct high-quality pharmacy services and products to the Companyâs customers and patients in accordance with established policies, procedures and laws regulating pharmacy practice. Coordinate all pharmaceutical services including procurement, compounding, dispensing of medications, all clinical activities of the infusion facility of which they are in charge and reimbursement.
Position Responsibilities:

With the President and General Manager, selects, trains, develops and motivate a competent pharmacy s! taff to prepare quality medications and solutions in accordanc! e with physician orders
·
Participate in defining the scope of services to be provided initially and on an ongoing basis
·
Accept only those patients to pharmaceutical service whose needs can be met
·
Participate in decisions regarding pharmaceutical services
·
Participate in determining if there are sufficient qualified personnel to provide the planned pharmaceutical services
·
Participate in the recruitment and training of pharmacists, technicians, clerks, delivery personnel and other ancillary personnel o
Maintain continuing education and training files on each pharmacist and ancillary personnel o
Provide initial orientation for each employee to obtain knowledge, skills, and current competence as appropriate to the pharmaceutical services provided o
Evaluate personnel to determine that they have the requisite knowledge and skills necessary to do their assigned job o
Assist in assigning personnel r! esponsibilities based on their qualifications and competence o
Provide ongoing training and reassign personnel responsibilities based on their additional qualifications and updated current competence or as scope of service change

Participate in the development, revision, and review of standard operating procedures with protocols and guidelines
·
Provide the necessary policies and procedures to protect employees that work with infectious type patients or handle hazardous chemicals
·
Ensure that all the appropriate required documentation for the State, Federal regulatory agencies, and JCAHO are maintained, easily accessible and current (i.e., prescription logs, patient profiles, patient charts, narcotic receipts, state pharmacy permit, narcotic permit)

Administer all pharmacy activities including ensuring all policies and procedures are followed

Ensure that preparation of sterile parenteral products (i.e., Tota! l Parenteral Nutrition, Antibiotics, Chemotherapy, Large Volume Parente! rals) is done in accordance with excellent sterile (aseptic) technique and within OSHA guidelines

Manage and supervise the filling, receiving, compounding, and dispensing activities involved in providing finished product to the patient

Ensure that the safety of the patient and personnel is always the first priority.

Assist in costs and inventory control
·
Participate in reimbursement for infusion pharmacy
·
Provide employee counseling, guidance, and if necessary, disciplinary action
·
Provide an environment in which employees can maximize their own potential
·
Interact with administrators, nurses and physicians
·
Manage and/or ensure that patient care conferences are held
·
Supervise the procurement of all equipment and supplies related to pharmacy practice Q
ualifications
Knowledge/Experience:
Bachelorâs degree or advanced degree ! (PharmD., M.S) in pharmacy. 5+ years of mail order, retail or hospital pharmacy experience or 3+ years of closed door (i.e. compounding or specialty) pharmacy experience. Experience in patient care and patient medication counseling, unit dose preparation of sterile parenteral products, drug therapy monitoring, clinical laboratory evaluation, drug and medical supply procurement, inventory control, risk management, quality assurance, third party reimbursement and JCAHO
Licenses/Certifications: Current stateâs Pharmacist license and license at other states as required
