Job Description Position Summary
The Pharmacy technician provides customer service to clients requiring durable medical equipment, supplies, and medications. Assist Pharmacist in processing prescriptions for dispensing. May measure, count, label, and record amounts and dosages of medications. Position Responsibilities
Assists clients/patients as needed.
Assists Pharmacist with preparing prescriptions for customers.
Instructs patients in use of durable medical equipment and supplies, as needed! .
Comply with all Federal and state laws, rules and regula! tions.
Resolve third party rejections.
Retrieve and file prescriptions appropriately according to state and federal laws.
Assists with inventory control.
Maintains customer information in the company database.
Demonstrates timeliness, courtesy, sincerity and patience when dealing with customers.
Markets the company in a positive and professional manner at all times.
Assumes other duties, within scope of training, as assigned by the Pharmacist on duty or Pharmacy Manager.
Willing to function as a cooperative team member, and help foster a team atmosphere
Competencies
Excellent customer service and phone skills.
Knowledge in use of medical equipment and supplies provided by the company.
Good organizational and leadership skills.
Ability to navigate computer system as well as a working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Environmental Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
Must possess mobility to safely work in! and move about in a pharmacy setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer.
Standing for extended periods of time.
Reaching out by extending hands or arms in any direction
Manual dexterity required to manipulate small objects such as using a keyboard or counting pills.
Strength to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds
Communication skills using the spoken word, both in person and over the telephone.
Visual ability to read materials in either a printed format or on a computer screen
Ability to hear well enough to carry on a normal conversation, both in person and over the telephone.
Ability to concentrate and maintain attention to detail despite frequent interruptions.
Position Qualifications
Be at least 18 years of age.
Graduate from an accredited high school or GED equivalency.
