Richmond Supply Chain Services is recruiting a full-time Work-From-Home Pharmacy Supervisor for the Midwest Market of its COE (Centralized Order Entry) Pharmacy. This position supports 8 of our HCA hospitals in the Kansas area and supervises 20 COE Pharmacist. The COE Pharmacy Supervisor is responsible for monitoring, evaluating and making recommendations to assure the appropriate and effective use of pharmaceuticals for patient care. The COE Supervisor shall ensure that all COE pharmacists are using the medication process to assess, plan, intervene when necessary, implement and evaluate patient care in compliance with client hospital and COE policies, protocols and procedures.DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:Oversee all operations and coordinates workflow of the Centralized Order Entry AreaServe as pharmacist in charge for state licensure purposes if requiredAssist in interviewing and hiring of COE pharmacistsAssists in the orientation and training of the COE pharmacistsEnsures all policies and procedures are adhered to by the pharmacy staffAssists in preparation of the Key Performance Indicator reportPrepares the monthly COE DORPrepares schedule for COE pharmacistsAssist in the tracking and trending of all medication errors, performance metrics, and quality standards related to the COEProvide patient care activities to ensure safe and effective drug therapyBe of service to patients, physicians, nurses and other pharmacistsMaintain and improve job knowledge, skills and competencePerform duties in accordance with specific standards of care as evidenced by completion of competency skills checklistArticulate daily activities that support continuous quality improvement of patient carePrepare written or oral report at change of shift to communicate incomplete assignments and potential patient safety concerns to monitor in order to ensure continuity of medication therapy if requiredDemonstrate knowledge and mastery of required job functions, internal communications and operating systemsAccurately enter orders in the computer in a timely mannerSupport and assist in meeting departmental goals for order entry and clinical programsEnsure facility procedures are followed when non-formulary drugs, target drugs, restricted drugs and investigational drugs are orderedInitiate change in assignments based on workload and resources availableDemonstrate proficiency in computer order entry and related computer functionsScreen for drug interactions, allergies, order duplications, appropriate diagnosis, renal and liver function prior to order entryAssure facility queues are addressed in a timely mannerInvestigate and report adverse drug events and medication incidentsFacilitate dissemination of drug information in a timely manner to achieve high quality, cost effective, positive therapeutic outcomes when consultedReview and interpret all physician orders received, using the patient profileMonitor for incompatibilities, concentration and rate on intravenous drugsParticipate in the maintenance of continuous quality improvement programEDUCATIONBachelor’s degree from an accredited college of pharmacyEXPERIENCEThree (3) years hospital experience preferredMeditech operating systemCERTIFICATE/LICENSEAppropriate state licensure
