Supervisor of Specialty Clinical Management Program

operations is responsible for leading the Specialty Pharmacy teams providing

pharmaceutical care, patient engagement, assessments and consultations driving total healthcare outcomes.

These high-touch, member-centric programs are in place to educate and empower members to better manage their complex disease state and specialty medications

to improve adherence, manage dosing, side effects and limit unwarranted use driving benefits in the form of improved patient outcomes, reduced waste and cost-savings in the rapidly expanding arena of specialty pharmacy.

The position will involve collaborating with executive leaders within UnitedHealth Care and Optum enterprises to evaluate concepts to provide best in class outcomes, efficiency, and utilization within the Clinical Management Programs.

Job Responsibilities

·

Oversee and Drive Specialty Pharmacy Clinical Management Program (CMP); consisting of a team of clinicians conducting scheduled consultation with members

·

Serves as a resource to staff about the day to day operations and familiar with P&P’s, state grids, resource tools, staff lists (ID’s, MS sign-on, phone number list)

·

Will be involved in HR duties such as On-boarding staff, orientation, training, scheduling etc.

·

Monitor queues, work assignments, compliance and adherence to policies and procedures. Monitor and address Reports (error reports, pend reports, etc.) as assigned.

·

Communication to manager on the following to include but not limited to: FMLA, CAPs, VS plans, compliance issues (daily- real time),Backlogs, and productivity concerns.

·

Serves as a catalyst for implementing an appropriate risk assessment process designed to identify and correct deficiencies. Must be innovative and bring new ideas for efficiencies.

·

Performs internal Quality Control reviews on processes and activities while developing recommendations for improvement.

·

Assists with the coordination of external audits and reviews conducted by our clients or contracting organizations.

·

Maintains extensive knowledge of regulatory and applicable accrediting body requirements becoming a Compliance resource for the team

·

Facilitates projects related to CMP and Specialty Pharmacy

·

Interacts effectively with other departments for resolution of complex issues or to ensure compliance.

·

Establish and maintain good working relationships throughout the company to support goals and objectives.

Qualifications

·

Must have a minimum of Bachelor’s degree; PharmD degree highly preferred

·

Must have at least 2 years leading projects or tasks or staff (supervisor title not required)

·

Experience in one or more of the following therapeutic categories Oncology, HIV/AIDS, Transplant, Hepatitis C, Multiple Sclerosis, and Rheumatoid Arthritis is required

·

A strong clinical background with Residency, Fellowship, or Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist or experience in hospital, specialty or home health is highly preferred

·

Current, unrestricted Pharmacist licensure and ability to obtain licensure in Kansas through reciprocity within 6 months of hire date required

·

Pharmacy Benefit Management experience preferred

·

1 year of professional experience with: MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint is required

·

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
