We serve Kansas and northeast Oklahoma through our doctors, hospitals, senior villages and health services.Position Summary: This position is a twelve-month post-graduate program designed to provide the resident with extensive, broad-based training and experience in the practice of pharmacy. This position actively participates in achieving the educational goals and objectives for each training experience; participates in the design and completion of a residency project; interprets and processes physicians' medication orders and provides information to medical, nursing and other healthcare personnel concerning the optimal, safe use of medication therapy; actively pa! rticipates in outstanding customer service and accepts respons! ibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions: Other duties may be assigned.
Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of the job. Fulfills all duties and responsibilities of a clinical staff pharmacist (see related position description) Manages and improves the medication-use process Provides evidence-based, patient-centered care and collaborates with other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care Exercises leadership and practice management skills Demonstrates project management skills Develops and refines time-management skills Provides medication and practice-related information, education, and/or training Utilizes medical informatics in their daily work, and participates in the development and improvement of these tools Participates in training and educational activities of the residency program to produce the following outcomes: a) acquire the knowledge necessary for hi! gh-level problem solving, b) refine problem solving strategies, c) strengthen professional and leadership values and activities, d) advance growth in clinical judgment. Displays initiative in providing optimal patient medication therapy outcomes through clinical pharmacy services, education, special projects, innovative services, and other appropriate activities. Interprets and processes physician medication orders, monitors drug interactions, allergies and drug incompatibilities, and dispenses medications provided for patient use.
Complies with all applicable professional standards, laws and regulations as required by professional organizations, the government or other third parties. Develops and utilizes the skills necessary to apply knowledge of age-related factors in the assessment, care, treatment and education of patients newborn through geriatric and effectively applies policies relative to safety, infection control and risk management. Provides and supports! effective communication within the department and throughout the medic! al center to promote positive relations and interactions Acts ethically in the conduct of all pharmacy practice activities Appreciates the need to adapt patient care for the culturally diverse Develops and maintains knowledge and understanding of Pharmacy and hospital information systems Demonstrates consistent use of a systematic approach to problem-solving Works harmoniously with others in the Pharmacy and Medical Center Displays compassion for patients. Maintains confidentiality of patient information Effectively uses time-management skills to fulfill practice and training responsibilities Completes a research project approved by the Residency Program Director Timely completion of all documentation in ResiTrak JOB REQUIREMENTS: Education and/or Experience Doctor of Pharmacy Degree or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy Degree with equivalent experience with Kansas licensure.

Technical Skills Previous personal computer experience required Must have strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Must have the ability to effectively communicate with people in order to provide excellent customer service. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Requires licensure as a registered pharmacist in the state of Kansas; eligibility for licensure is acceptable, but employee must obtain Kansas licensure within 90 days of employment. Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers offered by the American Heart Association or CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer offered by the Red Cross within 30 days post date of hire.
ACLS within 6 months if required.
