This position fills the needs, as determined by ARM, to provide medical information services to contracted pharmaceutical industry customers. The specialist is primarily responsible for answering medical inquiries from health care professionals and patients using the available medical information resources at ARM. In addition, the specialist will document and report adverse events and product complaints according to established ARM (and client) standard operating procedures.
Responsibilities:
The Medical Information Specialist w! ill be responsible for communication of medical/safety informa! tion to external customers, primarily healthcare professionals and patients. Specific responsibilities include:
Provide labeled and unlabeled medical/safety information on contracted products in response to unsolicited requests for information verbally and/or in writing.
Evaluate and interpret medical/safety information from various sources (e.g. literature, internal clinical data, postmarketing surveillance data).
Conduct searches of published medical literature, review and accurately summarize the literature into standard response letters.
Assist with other special writing projects as needed.
Assist the Medical Communications Coordinator in providing full and compliant documentation per SOPs.
Work directly with pharmaceutical company clients on specific projects.
Provide after-hours beeper coverage on a rotated basis
Other activities as assigned.
Qualifications:
Prefer Pharmacist or Nurse with an advanced degree (MS, Pha! rm D, PhD)
Ideally, 2-5 years of practical experience in a retail, hospital, managed care, or drug industry setting or have completed a drug information residency.
Multi-lingual a plus (Spanish, Portuguese, French)
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
