Position Summary:
To provide medications for patients, employees/dependents and other departments in an efficient and correct manner. To counsel patients on medication so each will take the medication correctly.
Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
Checks and fills prescriptions.
Counsels patients. Answers questions about medications and takes new prescriptions over the phone.
Compounds medications, using standard formulas and processes, such as weighing, measuring and mixing ingredients.
Orders and maintains inventory control. Orders narcotics and maintains records for the DEA. Maintains all other required state and federal records.
Maintains a high level of customer service.
Oversees the activities of the ! Pharmacy Technicians in the Manager’s absence.
May ! perform other duties as requested or assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience
Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy.
Registered pharmacist in the state of Kansas. Must complete continuing education activities to maintain license on a semi-annual basis.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence

Technical Skills
Previous personal computer experience required
Must have the ability to perform multiple tasks at once. This position uses the encapsulating machine, 10-key machine, fax machine, copy machine, balances, tube sealer, multi-line phone, counting machine.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Registered pharmacist in th! e state of Kansas. Must complete continuing education activities to mai! ntain license on a semi-annual basis.

Working Conditions:
Works in a well lit, climate controlled environment. Stress from dealing with upset/irate patients/customers and employees. Must be able to respond immediately to patients, physicians, nurses, co-workers and stat administrative problems. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or hazardous materials. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
