The Department of Pharmacy Practice invites applications for a 12 month clinical track faculty position at the Assistant/Associate level. The position requires the establishment, maintenance, and advancement of a clinical practice in a Family Medicine ambulatory care setting. Teaching responsibilities will include coordination and instruction of didactic courses and clinical instruction of pharmacy students in experiential rotations. The position will support the Profession, University, School of Pharmacy, and Department through his or her involvement as a member, and in leadership roles with committees and professional organizations. Scholarly activity is expected. Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with the qualifications and expertise of the individual.

Required Qualifications
The successful applicant for this position shall possess a terminal degree (PharmD or equivalent) in their field. Licensure or eligibility for licensure as a pharmacist in Kansas within 6 month of hire is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Completion of advanced training through a residency and/or fellowship with a clinical focus is preferred. Candidates with experience equivalent to this advanced training will be considered. Candidates should have documented communication, clinical, and teaching skills/experience. Completion of a teaching certificate program or equivalent experience in teaching is also preferred. If advanced certification is available in the clinical field, the position is expected to complete this credential.

Teaching and Clinical Practice: The position will be responsible for the coordination, instruction and completion of didactic courses in the Pharmacy School curriculum for the Pharm.D. Program. Teaching responsibilities will primarily be within the Pharmacy Practice and Pharmacotherapy series' of courses taught by the Department of Pharmacy Practice. In addition, the position requires the clinical instruction of pharmacy students in experiential rotations.

Establishment, maintenance and advancement of a clinical practice in an appropriate health care practice setting is also required. The practice setting will primarily be ambulatory care based. The person shall be expected to develop a solid working relationship with the medical team in the clinical field. Service: The position will support the Profession, University, School of Pharmacy, and Department through their involvement and leadership roles with various committees and organizations. This may include serving and chairing University, School of Pharmacy and Department committees, holding elected positions in professional organizations, and serving on local, state and national professional organization committees. Other responsibilities may involve serving as an adviser in supporting student organizations within the School and refereeing for granting agencies, journals and professional association meeting materials. Lastly, clinical track positions shall serve their communities as a valued health care professional and citizen by providing community education and professional lectures.

Research and Scholarship: Research and scholarly activity is expected of the position; however, this is not the primary focus of the Clinical Track positions.
